About This Stay

Located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills, Masai Mara Sopa Lodge was one of the first safari lodges to be built in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, a reason why its gardens and trees are so lush and mature. All the buildings follow the design of traditional African round houses with conical roofs, and these stretch along the line of the hills with the impressively large public area buildings and the swimming pool at their centre.

Location

The lodge is situated in the Oloolaimutia Hills on the eastern edge of the Maasai Mara ecosystem, approximately 250 km from Nairobi. It offers easy access to game-viewing areas within the reserve.

Getting There

By road: Approximately 5–6 hours' drive from Nairobi. By air: Daily scheduled flights operate from Nairobi's Wilson Airport to Keekorok Airstrip, followed by about a 1-hour transfer to the lodge

Check-in & Check-out

Standard check-in time is from 2:00 PM. Check-out time is 10:00 AM. Early arrivals and late departures are subject to availability.

Best Time To Visit

July to October: Ideal for witnessing the Great Wildebeest Migration. December to March: Excellent wildlife viewing with generally dry weather and fewer crowds. April to May: Green season with lush landscapes and attractive lodge rates.
